Clare Waight Keller's creations for Givenchy emanate a deceptive simplicity. For her first haute couture collection for Givenchy, she is offering Palais Galliera this silhouette named "Brahmeide" in homage to the eponymous butterfly species. The cup is a reference to the archives of the fashion house created in 1952 by Hubert de Givenchy : a short cape that fits in the style of certain liturgical costumes. A rounded seam accompanies the rounded shoulders, details found on 1960s models of the claw. The material is not velvet, but embroidered with silk hairs of various shades of blue, gathered in "handful eyebrows", an abundant ornamental technique on 18th century dresses. The only concession to masculinity, the strict pleated black wool caviar trousers complete the line of this graphic model.
